Mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy (mHBOT) is a non-invasive way to increase the amount of oxygen available to your body.
Oxygen plays a foundational role in energy production. Every cell in the body relies on oxygen to generate ATP (the molecule responsible for fueling cellular activity, repair, and resilience).
During a mild hyperbaric session (1.3–1.5 ATA), increased atmospheric pressure allows more oxygen to dissolve into the plasma of the blood. This enhanced oxygen availability may support circulation to tissues that are stressed, inflamed, or recovering.
The brain, in particular, has high oxygen demands. Although it represents a small percentage of total body weight, it uses a significant portion of the body’s oxygen supply. Supporting oxygen availability may contribute to clarity, focus, and overall neurological resilience.
Mild hyperbaric therapy works best when done consistently. Sessions build upon one another over time, supporting the body’s natural repair and recovery processes and the protocol length varies based on individual goals and response.

Question:
What does a hyperbaric oxygen session feel like?
You relax comfortably inside a large, soft, pressurized chamber (comparable to what a tent looks like) while breathing normal air.
Pressure builds gradually and gently similar to taking off in an airplane. Most clients nap, read, meditate, or listen to a podcast.
It is calm, quiet, and meditative. It is not a hospital setting.
Question:
Is mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy safe?
Mild hyperbaric therapy at 1.3-1.5 ATA is considered safe for most individuals when delivered appropriately.
As with any wellness modality, those with medical conditions or ear/sinus concerns should consult their healthcare provider. We review all clients before beginning to ensure comfort and suitability.
Question:
Is this the same as hospital hyperbaric oxygen therapy?
No.
Hospital chambers operate at significantly higher pressures and are used for acute medical conditions, often times only ones covered by the FDA.
Elixir offers mild hyperbaric therapy (1.35 ATA) designed for wellness, recovery, and repeated sessions in a comfortable environment.
Question:
How many sessions of hyperbaric do I need?
Needs vary based on your goals.
For post-surgical or brain health support, many clients complete a structured series of 10–20 sessions. Anti-aging, long-term health benefits, or chronic conditions may require up to 60 sessions. Protocols for increased performance, energy and clarity, jet lag, and acute conditions, are typically 1-20 sessions.
Consistency matters more than a single visit so many incorporate hyperbaric therapy weekly as part of a long-term vitality plan.
Question:
Will my ears hurt?
Pressure increases gradually and most clients adjust comfortably.
If you can equalize pressure during air travel, you can typically adjust easily here. Our team walks you through the process and ensures you are comfortable before continuing.
Question:
Will I feel claustrophobic?
Our chambers are soft-sided and extremely spacious with plenty of "amenities". Many clients are surprised at how comfortable and relaxed they feel!
If you have concerns, we’re happy to explain the experience in detail before you book.
Question:
Can I combine hyperbaric therapy with other Elixir services?
Yes.
Mild hyperbaric therapy pairs well with red light therapy and compression for clients focused on recovery, brain health, and long-term vitality.
We can help you structure an intentional and personalized protocol specifically for your goals.
Question:
Who should check with a provider before booking?
If you are pregnant, have unmanaged ear or sinus issues, lung conditions, or are under active medical care, consult your healthcare provider before beginning.
You should delay doing treatment if you have severe allergies or a cold as you need to be able to breathe through your nose and mouth to clear your ears.
Anyone experiencing seizures should not do mHBOT. If you have not been cleared by your doctor post mTBI/concussion, it is recommended you wait to do mHBOT.
For safety reasons if you cannot get down to or up from the floor without assistance, please book the seated mild chamber.
If you’re unsure, contact us and we’ll guide you.
Question:
What should I wear?
What can I bring inside the chamber with me, and what is not acceptable?
Come dressed as you are, or bring a comfortable change of clothes. You will need to remove your shoes, but otherwise can wear anything you'll be comfortable in.
You can read, nap, meditate, listen to a podcast, work on your laptop, take calls, or watch a show during the treatment. There is no plug in the chamber so if you'll be using a device, make sure it's charged. You can also bring a bottle of water with a lid.
Please do not wear perfume or scented lotion.
Food is not allowed in the chamber. Drink containers without a lid are also not allowed inside the chamber.
